just realised i can't spell fiji... fjij. what the shit.
a select few came in to the Emerica STAY GOLD DVD premiere on tuesday night at whammy bar. was a sick night getting SOL's NEW YORK PIZZA, followed by some crazy skateboarding from emerica. definite highlights were jerry hsu (switch madness), romero (mad pop) and the BOSS himself, reynolds. should be in store real soon.
POSTED : 19.08.10 - balls
we are giving a trip to FIJI away for some lucky customer... all you have to do is spend $100 in-store or online, fill in the entry and you are in the draw. damn. so you just have to buy any of our gear, including new summer stock from iLabb, Krew, Supra, Five Each, Lower, Fed, Insight, Gravis, VIC or anything else and you could be off to FIJI BABY!
POSTED : 07.08.10 - balls
matty and i are off to wanaka in the morning to check out burton 2011/12 and to take the gears for a shred. i will try and check in with some sneaky shots of the new gear so check our facebook page.

the winners are announced in September so here goes nothing!

Remind Insoles are a rider-driven company that has designed killer insoles specifically for skateboarding and snowboarding. They are made of durable EVA foam and provide precise anatomical foot alignment, maximised arch support, supreme cushioning (Gel heel cup) and are amazing. With guys like Travis Rice, Brian Igucci and skateboarder Isaiah Johnson (see video over there on the left) riding them, you know they are good. We have a limited quantity available in store, and they will be up on the site in the next couple of days. BANGING>

Check the Nahdog video next Wednesday (26th) at 6pm - Boardertown, Botany Town Centre...
POSTED : 17.05.10 - balls
if you haven't checked this out already, Shane O'neills part that was released through the Berrics last week is amazing.
POSTED : 23.04.10 - balls
this is so late (again). we have been in chaos getting the new store banging. we just got in so much new stock from Lower, Krew, Burton, Lib Tech, Rome SDS, Something Else, Nike 6.0, Vans... pretty much all you favourites. Anyway, it looks killer.
If you haven't checked it out, Lakai's Am I Am is amazing. some of the freshest skating I have seen in a long time. you got to hate the name, but Riley Hawks skating is off the scale. it's bigger than an icelandic volcano. it's over there in the middle window if you haven't realised.
POSTED : 24.03.10 - balls
it has been way too long since i have even logged onto this site... in between getting the new store sorted (less than 3 weeks to go!) and receiving 6 pallets of burton stock... that's right, 6 pallets! i haven't had much spare time. not to worry though, burton is online and ready to buy, and will be in store in the next day or two... definitely auckland's best and biggest range of boards.
we also got in the 2011 K2 and Ride boards. that is some bad ass stuff. for the girl shredders out there, check the K2 Ecopop. so hot. so good for the environment too.
if you haven't already, hit us up on facebook.
POSTED : 11.03.10 - balls

it's gonna be a few months until Barry Curtis Skatepark is complete so in the meantime, the Botany Community Board thought it would be good to put another skate feature in at Logan Carr Reserve (next to Botany Town Centre)... the concrete pour is happening right now so in about a week (when the concrete sets properly) we will have ourselves a killer spot to jam after school/work. deace!
POSTED : 29.01.10 - balls
the past few days the boys have been checking out Burton, Analog, Forum, Special Blend, Four Square, Anon, Ride, K2 and Sessions for the 2011 season... that's right. NEXT YEAR. it blows my mind how far out we have to order.
i just got back in the shop to find over 50 sets of new trucks including theeve, thunder, venture, destructo and royal, as well as a heap of new decks from baker, deathwish, real, chocolate, girl and city. oh, and we got some more shake junt and deathwish sunnies (in new colours) and some BRIGADA eyewear too.
POSTED : 25.01.10 - balls
the boys are of to chch for a few days to check out 2011 gear from burton, ride, sessions, k2 and a bunch of other killer brands. it should be mean to check out the future of snowboarding, and to maybe have a cheeky skate at washington.... deace!

nz is definitely pumping out some rippers. check this inverview with shelly over at the manual website. if you don't already - go buy Manual magazine and support Caleb, David and the crew. these guys put in a huge amount of effort to produce a legit magazine.... Manual is such a huge support for skateboarding and snowboarding and they deserve all the support when can provide.

it's been quite nice having the last couple of weeks to mellow at home with the wife. we pretty much just laxed, played tennis, walked our puppy and put in a sweet organic vege patch. then put it in again after belle scaled the fence and destroyed it. that's all over now though.
keep an eye on the bTown crew... we got big plans this year to keep growing and making sh*t better.
thanks for your support in 09... i know this year we are going to be doing our best to bring you the biggest and best range of skate, snow, wake, clothing and footwear...
POSTED : 23.12.09 - balls

okay, so here's your chance to get your feedback in on the skatepark. remember, keep it positive so we can keep this moving...
POSTED : 02.12.09 - balls
it's been a while since I posted an updated on the Barry Curtis Skatepark but that doesn't mean that we haven't been working away on it... Mark, Owen and I have continued meeting with Isthmus - the company designing Barry Curtis Park to work on the skatepark plans. After some pretty lengthy meetings, and some late nights reviewing the plans - we have finished the initial drawings and they should be released in the next little while for people to check out...
We are getting some pretty good feedback, so with any luck we should have Auckland's first world-class skatepark...

Head over to the Irrom website and check Boardertown team rider Brett Band killing it. If you haven't met Brett, he could be one of the most uncoordinated people in east auckland. i was working with him in the shop one sunday and he spilt a WHOLE frappuccino all over our girls section (seriously, it was everywhere) and it wasn't a small frappuccino, it was a venti. put brett on a skateboard and he is the most natural skater i have ever seen... oh, and he takes mint photos and puts them on his facebook page. most of them are gay poses with his bff's.
POSTED : 09.11.09 - balls
the KREW demo went down at Owairaka last sunday. if you missed it, we have some photos on facebook so become friends with boardertown and check them out.
we just visited the boys at IRROM and picked up a bunch of new product, including decks, wheels, t-shirts and caps. it's all looking deace, so if you want some product (like our limited DEATHWISH backpacks) get down to the shop now.

Yo yo! Check the local kids in the latest edition of the Eastern Courier. We are stoked Manukau City Council is responding to the needs of the local community and giving us a skatepark. Thanks Eastern Courier for the continued exposure and big-ups Len Brown!
Wish us luck for the Manukau Business Awards tonight. We will post some photos of the boys in tuxedos next week...
POSTED : 15.09.09 - balls
i just got back from my first meeting about the Barry Curtis Skatepark. I am part of the Technical Advisory Group that will work with the architects, builders and Manukau City Council to build a skatepark that the community wants.
The first meeting was really good. Isthmus (the architects) are on point in terms of their knowledge of skateboarding and this should be a really good process to work through. Huge thanks to Manukau City council (Len Brown and Johan Ferrier) for pushing the project. I will keep you up to date on any developments... in the meantime, go to www.bcparkskatepark.co.nz to give your input. speak now or shut up.
POSTED : 13.09.09 - balls
this has to be the best game of skate I have ever seen. damn.
POSTED : 09.09.09 - balls
Okay, so Manukau City Council is trying to get the Barry Curtis Skatepark sorted. They need OUR input now so go over to their website and give them your input.
Tomorrow on Thursday 10th August we are getting a photo with the Eastern Courier for an article on the skatepark. PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are free come down to the Barry Curtis Park playground at 4pm for the photo. Bring your boards down - it would be awesome to get a massive showing and really show council how many skaters want this.
This is our opportunity to get an amazing park built so no excuses - get motivated and give your input.
POSTED : 01.09.09 - balls
i am well and truly back in the store after a massive trip to the S.I. basic run down - dodgy flight, broken board, broken binding, broken back, dislocated shoulder, broken board, dislocated shoulder, met keir dillon/torstein heigmo and snowboarded. pretty epic week really.
we have a little family&friends event but to find out what, you gotta be friends with btown on facebook... no excuses.
POSTED : 11.08.09 - balls
danny and me are off to the south island with 9 other lucky peeps. if you aren't one of them you can check our progress on facebook... we will try and have daily updates and fresh pics for you. deace!
POSTED : 06.08.09 - balls
skateboarding has become such a huge industry that it is hard to find truly unique skateboarders - people that are innovative and skate to their own rhythm. theberrics posted this video of nick mullins today and i thought it worthy of a re-post. this kid is unbelievable and he isn't even sponsored - he skates because he loves it. Nick is an inspiration to me.
what's more, nick is seriously ill in hospital and his family need your prayers... in this truly global community we live in, it would be awesome if we could all get behind him and support him.
thanks!
Tim

rumour has it two professional snowboarders were arrested in wanaka last night for possession of marijuana. police aren't releasing names, other than that one is an Olympic medalist... could it be those rascals Danny Kass and Dingo? only time will tell...
POSTED : 27.07.09 - balls
burton snowboards was kind enough to fly danny and myself down to the 03 for the weekend to check out the burton range for 2010 (next year for those of you without a calendar)... the range is looking tight. their outerwear is stepping up with some dope cuts and some crazy colourways... boards and bindings are also stepping it up with some crazy new tech (think v-rocker on acid) and of course we will be rolling 2011 boards again... the boot program is off the chain with some new boots coming out and the old favourites just getting better and better...
after checking the gear out we HAD to go shred. we got a bluebird day up Mt Hutt on sunday and shredded till we couldn't shred no more. i took a pretty heavy slam at the end of the day when my board just stopped on a box in the small park. pretty emarrasing to go down like that but that's the breaks.
oh, and danny hussled CHCH casino out of some $$$$$
good weekend.
POSTED : 18.07.09 - balls
rach and i just got back from turoa last night. we had a banging couple of days with (considering it's school holidays) not too many people, deace snow for july and good weather. yesterday was bluebird (even if it was blowing hard) and the park was looking good. bt part-timer leon was rolling hard with back to back flips on the 20s... rumour has it a double back flip by the end of the season is on....
hmmm, back to the shop and crap auckland weather. damn. Mt Hutt next sunday tho. you ready Danny!

happy birthday to us. it's bTown's 5th birthday today!! damn. congrats to the boys - matty, dan and jerra for getting the shop locked and loaded. me and danny were reminiscing last night about how it started. truly crackup. two 19 year olds, a 25 year old, some borrowed money and a crackup ex-real estate office... thanks for all your support and helping us achieve our dream!
what better way to celebrate a 5th birthday than to go checkout Bruno. that has to be the whackest movie i have ever seen. it's got more sausage than belgium and more rednecks than taihape. sorry taihape, but it's probably true... go see it but be warned.
