Following on from the release of the Nike SB x Arts & Rec Air Trainer 1, we are hyped to unveil the raffle release of the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro x Arts & Rec, a dynamic collaboration that fuses skate culture, bold design, and artistic expression.

The Arts & Rec x Nike SB Collaboration: A Celebration of Creativity

San Diego-based Arts & Rec Skateshop, founded in 2018 by pro skateboarder Kellen James, is a hub for skateboarding, art, and community. This collaboration with Nike SB captures that vibrant spirit, drawing inspiration from the scenery and wildlife of San Diego’s iconic 99-acre Balboa Park and its renowned zoo. The result is a striking sneaker that blends earthy tones with bold patterns, reflecting the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The Arts & Rec Dunk Low Pro is a fresh take on the iconic Dunk Low silhouette, reimagined with skate-ready functionality and a nod to San Diego’s creative energy. The sneaker features a vibrant color palette of Khaki, Amber Brown, Rough Green, Rust Pink, Black, and Sail. Its mixed-material upper includes a pink nubuck toe box, animal print-inspired overlays, green midfoot paneling, and shaggy orange suede Swooshes for a bold, textured look. Subtle details like debossed elements, animal print sockliners, and color-coordinated laces tie into the zoo-inspired theme, while a hidden message, “Please Do Not Tap on Glass,” on the inner tag adds a playful touch. Built for skateboarding, the sneaker offers a durable tumbled leather construction, a Sail midsole, and a semi-translucent outsole for grip and board feel, ensuring both style and performance.

The Legacy of the Nike SB Dunk Low

Introduced in 2002 as part of Nike’s skateboarding line, the Nike SB Dunk Low transformed the classic Dunk basketball shoe into a skateboarding icon. Known for its low-profile silhouette, padded tongue, and Zoom Air cushioning, the SB Dunk Low quickly became a favorite among skaters and sneakerheads for its versatility and comfort. Over the years, it has been reimagined through countless collaborations, cementing its status as a cultural staple. The Arts & Rec collaboration continues this legacy, blending San Diego’s skate culture with a modern, wildlife-inspired aesthetic that stands out both on the board and in the streets.
